Here are 6 ways to ring in the new year coast to coast!. New Year’s Eve is a time for celebrating friends, new beginnings Whether you rent a movie, pop popcorn and cuddle up by the fire for a quiet evening, or attend the ultimate New Year’s Eve party, there are plenty of options for every individual taste. You can enjoy your favorite dinner or snacks and drink a toast to 2020 at home, in your local town, or across the country.
If you do decide to attend a New Year’s Eve party or even host a New Year’s Eve gathering this year, I have some great ideas that range from informal and cozy to dramatic and formal.
Host A Neighborhood New Year’s Eve party
When I was in high school and college my parents hosted a New Year’s Eve party for any of the neighbors and friends that could attend. We lived out in the country, so the invite went out 10 miles or more. It was so much fun! There were entire families and since we all knew each other very well, we had a blast just hanging out together!
Pot luck! Everyone brings something to contribute for snacks and drinks
Turn on some holiday music
Take plenty of pictures to share with all your guests. They will appreciate your thoughtfulness.
Set up card tables! Put a different game at each table or play partner games; whatever you prefer
About 6th grade and beyond love the idea of ringing in the New Year’s with a party just for them! Not only will they have a memorable time with friends, but you’ll also know exactly where they are and how they are celebrating the New Year. You can learn a lot about your child and their relationships with friends by just hanging back and watching.
Let your kids help with the food and decorations
Ask each child to bring something, either food, drinks, a game, movies
Always provide options for a sleepover! It’s New Year’s Eve! You want everyone to know where their kids are and really don’t want parents out picking up kids late! The kids can bring their own pillows, sleeping bags, blankets, personal items, whatever they like
Have games, movies, fun activities. Again. allow all the kids to participate, bringing their favorites
Get out the camera and make memories!
Church Youth Groups ring in the New Year with new year’s Eve Celebrations
Many church youth groups ring in the new year with fun-filled New Year’s Eve parties. Some are over-night for safety for both kids and their parents. They will welcome your child and their friends. There will be food, drinks, games, movies, music, and fun! Check with your church or if you don’t have one yet, maybe some of their friend’s churches. They will welcome guests! Just offer to bring something to the festivities.
Local Community (Family) Centers ring in the new year
Many community centers host new year’s eve parties for local youth or maybe the whole family. Just check to see if you need to sign up early or pay at the door, and enjoy all the activities. Each community center has its own activities, but some of the activities I’ve seen are:
Community Center (Adult) New Year’s Eve Parties
You and your favorite person in the world can rock the night away in a fun, safe environment as well! Many communities host fun New Year’s Eve parties for adults too! While your kids are enjoying this special night with their friends in a safe location, you can enjoy a very classy adult evening as well! Do it right in Brentwood, CA
